The Karnataka Board Exam is conducted for students studying in class 10 (Secondary School Leaving Certificate, or SSLC) and class 12 (Pre-University Certificate, or PUC). It is one of the largest board exams in the country, with lakhs of students appearing for it each year. The exam evaluates students' knowledge and understanding of the prescribed syllabus and assesses their academic performance.
The Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB) was established in 1966. Its primary function is to regulate and supervise the secondary education system in Karnataka. The board conducts the SSLC examination, and for the PUC examination, it collaborates with the Department of Pre-University Education, Government of Karnataka.
The Karnataka Board Exam is conducted in two levels: a. SSLC (10th Standard): The SSLC exam is held for students completing their secondary education. It is usually conducted in the month of March or April. b. PUC (12th Standard): The PUC exam is conducted for students completing their pre-university education. It is usually conducted in the month of March.
The Karnataka Board Exam follows a grading system to evaluate students' performance. The grading system is based on the marks obtained by students and is divided into various grades such as A+, A, B+, B, C+, C, D+, D, E, and F. The grades help students, parents, and educational institutions understand the overall performance of the student.
The KSEEB issues admit cards to students appearing for the board exams. The admit card contains essential details such as the student's name, roll number, exam center, exam dates, and instructions. Students must carry their admit cards to the exam center to gain entry into the examination hall.
After the completion of the Karnataka Board Exam, the KSEEB and the Department of Pre-University Education undertake the task of evaluating the answer sheets. Once the evaluation process is completed, the results are usually declared within a few weeks. Students can check their results online or receive them through their respective schools.
