Eligibility Criteria

The 2023 exam will be held in two daily shifts - 9:00 AM-12:00 PM and 3:00-6:00 PM. Given below is the time schedule for both shifts of the UGC NET exam:

UGC NET Exam 2023 Pattern & Syllabus

UGC NET 2023 exam will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) through the computer-based mode. Here is the detailed pattern for the exam

NTA has introduced a minor change in the UGC NET 2023 exam. Both papers will be conducted in a single session of three hours. Earlier, there used to be a 30-minutes break between both papers. Here is the new exam pattern:

Paper-I consists of 50 questions on teaching/research aptitude, reasoning ability, divergent thinking, comprehension, and general awareness.

  • Paper 1 consists of 50 questions, each carrying 2 marks, and Paper 2 consists of 100 questions, each carrying 2 marks.

  • There is no negative marking for incorrect answers.
