Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT)

Every year, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) conducts the Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT) for admission to the BArch programme. B.Arch program is offered only at IIT Kharagpur, IIT (BHU) Varanasi and IIT Roorkee campuses. Candidates must note that admission to B.Arch course is provided on the basis of JEE Advanced All India Rank. However, it is mandatory for the candidates to clear the AAT exam. History of Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT)

The AAT exam is conducted by the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), and is an important part of the admission process. The AAT exam was first conducted in 2013 after the IITs changed the admission process for architecture programmes. Earlier, admission to architecture program was done only on the basis of JEE Main and JEE Advanced, but after the conduct of AAT exam, it became mandatory for students to clear this exam for admission to architecture program.

Fame of AAT in IITs

The AAT exam is sponsored only by a few IITs, including IIT Kharagpur, IIT (BHU) Varanasi, and IIT Roorkee. Within these IITs, the AAT exam is sponsored only for those students who have cleared the AAT exam after qualifying the JEE Advanced exam. This process has opened another door for the students through which they can enter the architecture field.

Below you can find the important dates for JEE Advanced Architecture Aptitude Test 2022.

JEE Advanced AAT 2022 will be held at 23 IITs across the country. The exam would be held in the morning session, i.e. from 9 AM to 12 PM. Candidates who are to appear for the examination will be required to report to the concerned exam center by 8:30 AM in the morning.
