Under the democratic system in our country, the post of Prime Minister is the most important post in the political ladder. In India, the Prime Minister is the leader of the majority party in the Lok Sabha, who heads the government. In relation to the appointment of the Prime Minister, a provision has been made in Article 75 of the Constitution, according to which the Prime Minister will be appointed by the President.
However, the leader of the majority party in the Lok Sabha is generally appointed to the post of Prime Minister.
